An RTI finding reveals that during the five years from 2016 to 2020, the National Child Protection Authority had received 2881 complaints regarding ‘child sexual abuse’.
During the five years from 2016 to 2020, the National Child Protection Authority received 1541 complaints of ‘serious sexual abuse’.
During the five years from 2016 to 2020, the National Child Protection Authority received 1307 complaints regarding ‘illegal child labor’.
During the last five years from 2016 to 2020, the highest number of continuous complaints were received from the Colombo District. The lowest number of complaints has been received from the Mannar district.
